#1 – “Warcry.”Part 1 of 4. Story, art and cover by Mike Grell. Art assist by Brian Snoddy. In a world where science has begun using gene splicing to create animal/human hybrids, there are new breeds being created strictly as warriors. Joshua Brand returns to the Sioux reservation where he was born. After the death of his mother, Brand agrees to participate in a ceremony that may make him more powerful than any of the hybrids.

A confrontation with a gang of horse thieves allows Joshua to reveal the full extent of his new abilities. They will be sorely tested however as maybe the most savage of the new animal/human hybrids, a creature knows as Animus escapes captivity and sets out on a rampage.
